How is an allergy to dust mites treated?

Measures to treat allergies to dust mites include:
• minimization of contact with allergens, for which it is necessary to carry out measures for the destruction of dust mites;
• use of medicinal products as prescribed by the attending physician;
• Desensitization - measures to reduce the perception of the body of allergens contained in domestic dust.

Modern medicine offers a number of drugs that are effective for allergies, these are predominantly antihistamines. It is important to combine their use with measures that prevent the exposure of allergens to the body, otherwise the effect will be minimized. It should be noted that antiallergenic drugs eliminate not allergies, but only its manifestations, while the hypersensitivity of the organism to a certain substance is preserved. The category of such drugs improves the quality of life of an allergy sufferer, but causes addiction, because in the absence of medicinal action a person experiences all the same physiological disorders. Therefore, sooner or later, an allergy sufferer needs to undergo a course of desensitization.

Desensitization can be applied if a specific antigen has been established. To date, standardized extracts of dust mite particles have been developed, which are used to treat tick sensitization.
In this case, an allergenic person is injected with an allergen extract in gradually increasing doses, starting with a dilution of 1: 1,000,000 skin doses of a specific allergen, gradually increasing its concentration to 1:10 of one skin dose, which will be the final dilution. During the course of the body, the allergic organism "accustoms" to the allergen and does not react so sensitively to its entry from the outside.

Protect yourself from dust mites.
